Graduated in Electrical Engineering (Honours) in 1970 from I.T.Banaras Hindu University and secured 2nd position in University. Joined as Assistant Engineer in the erstwhile UP State Electricity Board in the year 1971. He was promoted to the post of Executive Engineer in 1986 and became Dy. General Manager in Sept.2001. He was elevated to the post of General Manager in June'2004 and Chief General Manager in Jan'2005 and Director (P & A) in March'2006

He has vast experience in following disciples of UPPCL

•  Had experience in Management & Administration at various levels for 18 years.

• Commendable achievement in constructing 220 KV transmission Line & River Crossing (with R C type Tower)

• Construction of 220 KV transmission Lines & Sub Stations, 132 KV Line & Sub stations and 33 KV Lines & Sub stations

• Associated with formulation & implimentation of communication Planning and Unified scheme for Northern Regional Electricity Board.

• Associated with sub group of Rajyadhyaksha Commitee on Power appointed by Govt. of India.

• Published important papers on Performance Appraisal, Need for R & D in Power Sector, UPSEB an Economic Survey, Need for Performance Budgeting in State Electricity Boards and other Public Sector Undertakings, State Electricity Boards - Analysis of Economic & Managerial Problems.

• Attended various Traning Programmes in SIET Hyderabad, IIM Banglore, IAMR New Delhi, NITIE Bombay etc.
